Cambodia's export of mangoes to China means more than just tasting

On June 1, the Official Reception Ceremony of of the First Batch of Fresh Mangoes of Cambodia Imported to China hosted by the Cambodian Embassy in China and the China-ASEAN Business Council was held at the Shouheng Hebei Xinfadi Agricultural and Sideline Products Logistics.

H.E.Madam Khek Caimealy Sysoda, Ambassador of Cambodia to China, and Xu Ningning, Executive President of the China-ASEAN Business Council, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches.

In his speech, H.E.Ambassador Khek Caimealy Sysoda said that the Reception Ceremony of the First Batch of Fresh Mangoes of Cambodia Imported to China is another new achievement and milestone in the iron-clad friendship between the governments and peoples of the two countries and will provide Cambodian farmers with huge economic benefits. Cambodia and China can discuss more Cambodian agricultural products entering the Chinese market, including longan, durian, dragon fruit and bird's nest.

Xu Ningning said that the Reception Ceremony of the First Batch of Fresh Mangoes of Cambodia Imported to China has positive practical significance, which is beneficial to Cambodian product exports, post-pandemic economic recovery, and agricultural development; it is beneficial to attracting Chinese companies to invest in Cambodia and engage in agricultural product planting, processing and distribution in Cambodia. It is beneficial for Chinese fruit consumers to taste more varieties of fresh mangoes. 

During the reception ceremony, H.E.Ambassador Khek Caimealy Sysoda met with Xu Ningning, Executive President of the China-ASEAN Business Council, and talked about the current promotion of bilateral economic and trade cooperation.

In June 2020, China and Cambodia signed and exchanged the phytosanitary protocol for Cambodian mangoes imported to China.

On May 7, 2021, the first launch ceremony of Cambodian fresh mango imported to China was held in Phnom Penh in a combined online and offline manner. Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wentian and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Veng Sakhon attended and delivered speeches.

Mango has become Cambodia's second fresh fruit that can be directly exported to China after bananas.

Shouheng Hebei Xinfadi Agricultural and Sideline Products Logistics Park has a total of more than 7,300 foreign distributors and enterprises settled there, operating about 360 categories, covering 13 provinces and cities, and realizing a transaction volume of 76 billion yuan in 2020.
